Documenting favorite items through doodles and painting
Earlier this month, the TRAVELER’S COMPANY USA Staff had the opportunity to visit Tokyo for a fun adventure. Despite the sweltering heat, we packed in a lot of sightseeing and meetings with old and new friends.
The first leg of our adventures took the us from Tokyo to Kyoto, then to Kurashiki via the Shinkansen. TRC USA Staff Member, Job, used bold watercolor and the TRAVEL & SKETCH Pocket Palette to highlight his favorite meals and sights.
As soon as the team landed at Narita Airport, the first stop was naturally the TRAVELER’S FACTORY Airport store. The store is small and mighty, packed with all kinds of tools that a traveler could wish for on their trip.
Throughout the rest of the trip, the team filled their bellies with delicious sushi at conveyor belt restaurants. After walking around the whole day in hot summer heat, a refreshing meal at a vegan izakaya was the perfect remedy.
Collecting trip memories through ephemera and stamps
The Accordion Fold Paper refill is not only great for drawing and painting, but also is a great canvas for collecting ephemera and stamps along your short trip. On the backside of the Accordion Fold Paper TRAVEL & SKETCH, Job utilized a different collage style to document his trip experience.
From shopping packages to collectible stamps at train stations and stores, there is no lack of ephemera that a traveler can enjoy finding when visiting Japan.
Using a combination of paper scraps, decorative masking tape, and printed photos, Job created a colorful montage of his favorite trip memories throughout the week. He filled empty spaces using Tokyo-themed stickers, while jotting down short anecdotes about each special experience.
