On the weekend of April 26th and 27th, the TRAVELER’S COMPANY USA team joined the 30th-anniversary celebration of the L.A. Times Festival of Books at the University of Southern California campus, one of the largest literary events in the country, with over 300 vendors and 160,000 annual visitors!
Despite the rain on the first day, dedicated L.A. locals came out in full force to support small businesses and independent book vendors. The TRC USA booth drew attention from both new customers and returning TRAVELER’S notebook fans. Many new TRAVELER’S notebook customers were intrigued by the versatility of the TRAVELER’S notebook system for their reading activities, such as reading notes and documenting book reviews!
The L.A. Times Festival of Books marked the first time we debuted the new LOVE AND TRIP TRAVELER’S notebook collection in Los Angeles! The exciting red color of the new LOVE AND TRIP TRAVELER’S notebooks caught the eye of many festival-goers. The limited-edition Road Trip Collection tote bag proved especially popular, serving as the perfect companion for visitors’ book hauls throughout the festival.
As one of the non-book vendors at the festival, we were excited to introduce the TRAVELER’S FACTORY experience to Los Angeles! We displayed a selection of TF Original items, typically found exclusively in TRAVELER’S FACTORY stores in Japan. The TF Original Glasses Case and Book Cover matched the literary vibes of the book festival!
The second day brought sunshine and even more enthusiastic visitors to our booth. We were touched by the stories of both first-time discoverers of TRAVELER’S notebook and loyal TRAVELER’S notebook users who shared how they use their notebooks with new users. It was heartwarming to see the community educate and inspire new TRAVELER’S notebook users!
We’re grateful to everyone who visited us during this celebration of books and creativity. The spirit of reading and writing was truly present at the L.A. Times Festival of Books, and we’re honored to have been part of this milestone 30th anniversary.
While we’ll miss the literary atmosphere of USC’s campus, we’re looking forward to our next adventure, the TRC USA Pop-Up at JINS on Abbot Kinney on May 16th and 17th!
