Back in the days of vinyl records, artists used to release their hit singles on 7-inch 45 rpm records. This caused a boom in the pop music scene as they made music more accessible to the average person.
Each 7-inch vinyl single had two sides, an A-side and a B-side. The A-side was for the song the artist or record label was hoping would be a hit, and artists poured all their efforts into this song. B-sides were often considered bonus tracks or deep cuts, and musicians were less concerned about their commercial prospects. This did not mean no effort was made; rather, musicians saw these tracks as an opportunity for more artistic freedom. Sometimes they would experiment with new styles of music or use different instruments; other times they would cover songs that really inspired them. There were times when this paid off so well that the B-side became more of a hit than the A-side, or developed a cult following years after its initial release. It is now quite common for long-running musicians to not only release a collection of their A-side hits, more commonly known as “Greatest Hits”, but to also release these B-side songs exclusively on albums commonly titled “B-Sides & Rarities”.

It has now been 15 years since TRAVELER’S notebook was first released. In those 15 years, we have explored all sorts of different new ways to enjoy TRAVELER’S notebook and some styles we ultimately chose not to adopt as permanent products. Sometimes this was because they diverged from the general purpose of a notebook, and other times it was because they had only limited uses. When we put all of them together, we have an exciting compilation of new ways to enjoy your TRAVELER’S notebook. So just as musicians release albums of their B-sides and rarities, we’ve re-released a range of refills that are a little out of the ordinary. Maybe some of them will be B-sides that become a bigger hit than the A-side.

Washable Paper
– The paper won’t disintegrate if it gets wet in the rain or is washed with the laundry

*Spec: Blank / 48 pages / Washable Paper

This paper is made from the same material as a common laundry paper tag. Just like your laundry, this paper will not disintegrate when washed. This paper is perfect for outdoor purposes where rain is a concern, near plants that are watered in gardens or on farms, or in damper areas such as the kitchen or bathroom. This refill fits perfectly in your pocket and you will never have to worry about what will happen if you accidentally wash it with your laundry.

Sticker Release Paper
– Make a collection of your favorite stickers

*Spec: Blank / 32 pages / Release Paper

This refill is made from the smooth backing paper that is left over after removing a sticker. When stickers or masking tape are applied to this paper, it will allow you to remove them easily at any time. If you have a big collection of stickers, this is a great way to keep your favorites on hand. When collecting stickers on your daily travels, use this refill to keep them organized.

Accordion Fold Paper
– The paper unfolds like a map

*Spec: Blank / 13 accordion pages

Seven sheets of TRAVELER’S notebook refill paper are arranged in an accordion-style fold. The paper itself is a thick type of paper used for watercolor painting, making it the perfect texture for getting creative. Draw, make a collage, arrange photos, tickets, or labels, or unfold the accordion-style paper to write your whole travel itinerary, plans, or ideas for the year.

Super Lightweight Paper
– Fascinatingly thin, light paper

*Spec: Blank / 128 pages / Oilproof Paper

These refill notebooks are made of paper that is thinner and lighter than our lightweight paper. The paper itself does not allow for oil to penetrate easily, so it will not smear when using a fountain pen. The letters on the back of the page will show through a little because the paper is so thin. This will spark your creativity by finding interesting ways to use this transparent characteristic. The texture of the paper has a crispy aspect to it, making this paper very attractive.
